Green tea has been grown in many different area of Japan.
Japanese green tea is produced in many localities in Japan, the great majority over 40% is produced in Shizuoka prefecture, located near Mt Fuji. Another famouse grower is "Sayama" in Saitama prefecture, just north on Tokyo. My favorite "Yabukita-cha" comes from Kagoshima prefecture in Kyushu.
